Due to unforeseen circumstances, Construction vs Cancer Coachella Valley will be postponed until 2020.
WHAT IS CONSTRUCTION VS. CANCER?
Showing the softer side of construction, the local construction industry has forged a partnership with the American Cancer Society in its mission to find a cure for cancer. Imagine a young child affected by cancer being given the opportunity to sit in and help operate a piece of equipment such as a backhoe, dozer, or excavator! That is the goal of “Construction vs. Cancer Coachella Valley – The Big Dig” – a unique fundraising event that provides kids and those “kids-at-heart” the opportunity to operate various construction equipment, play games, and share in the festivities.
FREE to the PUBLIC, this event has been designed to offer kids and families a day of fun and entertainment in a festive, fair-like atmosphere. The look on a kid’s face as he or she operates an excavator is PRICELESS! We know children diagnosed with cancer undergo so many doctor visits, hospital appointments, tests, and treatment. To take control of a massive piece of equipment and get back in the Driver’s Seat can be therapeutic for not only the child, but the family who loves them.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Commit your organization to becoming a sponsor through your contribution. Your generous donation will provide VIP benefits for children with cancer and their families, logo placement on banners and apparel, social media recognition, and photo- ops. Most importantly, your contribution will help fund research to beat cancer once and for all.
For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
